How to become confident

Now I am going to make a BOLD claim that after reading this blog you will no longer be lacking in self confidence but you MUST answer these questions below before continuing.
Before we begin I am going to ask you 3 questions... So let's begin.
1. Are you tired of feeling like you need other peoples approvals?
2. Are you sick of not being able to go to events or meet new people because your confidence is holding you back?
3. Are you willing to do what needs to be done to change your life?
Now I'm assuming you have answered YES to all of these questions so lets get into it.
Now confidence is a weird and wonderful thing.
So let us think of the benefits of being a confident Man or Woman.
- You can speak to whomever you like to
- You find it easy to try new things
- You have more self belief
- You walk with your head held high
- You inspire others
- You know your worth
- You become a better negotiator
- You can get your point across with ease
- People listen to you when you talk
And More!
And now for the Golden Nuggets or if you would prefer the meat and potatoes.
I will now list the 10 Steps you can take now to become a an unstoppable force of confidence.
1. Learn something
Now we have all heard that expression knowledge is power and yes when you know about more topics it makes it a whole lot easier to pick a conversation starter and not only that you sound more interesting to people so they are more then likely going to want to hear what you have to say and they are going to want your opinions on topics so having knowledge on that topic will gain you the upper hand.
2. Exercise or work out
Yes ChilledCat's we are doing this again, we are bringing exercise back into it and why? Well as you have would of read in our other posts exercise is proven to release endorphins and make you feel good.
Let me break this down a bit more
If you are feeling overwhelmed or lacking confidence = stress and when you release that stress by running or working out you feel a whole lot calmer like a massive weight has been lifted.
However you will start looking good when you see yourself in the mirror and so will everyone else!
3. Create positive and growth habits
What do I mean? well pick one thing to start and do it everyday.
Like as an example say you have followed step one and you are say learning Spanish then make a point to find a Latin speaker online and put that practice in place, or perhaps you wanted to pick something else so say after your hour of learning pick up the habit of reading or creating music or anything that is productive and that will allow you to grow mentally or physically.
This is great because this creates discipline and you are not only getting the benefits of learning and refining your skills but as you are keeping promises to yourself you will feel like you have more self worth and knowing you can keep to your word is crucial.
4. Practice positive affirmations + gratitude
There is a saying that goes whatever we tell ourselves we manifest and this is so true!
What I like to do every morning is I spend 5 to 10 minutes thinking about all the things I am grateful for and I would say my thanks in my head like so.. Thank you for my eyes that enable me to see this beautiful world, thankyou for my legs and the ability to move freely.
Try this yourself you may have a pet frog who is named George so you could say I am grateful for my pet frog George.
Put this into practice and you will start feeling a whole lot more happier.
In our busy days sometimes we forget that we have so much to be thankful for.
Now at night before you sleep spend another 5 - 10 minutes with affirmations like so... I am happy, I am kind, I am confident, I can achieve anything I want and so on. You have to make sure you Imagine yourself as such as you are saying these.
What do I mean? Well say you Imagine yourself confident, what does a confident person look like? Imagine the scene and tell yourself I am confident.
This not only helps you stick to a habit but also trains your subconscious mind that you are what you say you are and you will start to act in a way of that desired person you wisht to become.
I believe you will see great results in this method but you have to be open minded and not give up.
5. Start speaking to random people
So most of us we go to the shop, do the school-run, go to work or even go to school and most people we pass we don't even speak to.
Start by walking past someone random and say Good morning, or good afternoon with a smile and a nod, now why? well because not only that it is a nice thing to do but it is easy to just go past someone that you do not know and just be like heya! it will boost your confidence a little.
And if you continue to do this then start changing it up like say good morning and say something else like the weather is beautiful today, or good morning how are you? or i love that dress! where did you get it?
Again this will level you up in confidence and 9 times out of 10 the person whom you are speaking to will talk back to you and that could become a friendship.
But the only way we know we have to take a few steps out of our comfort zone.
6. Focus on solutions not problems
Now I know we are used to moaning about things like weather, work, school, people, money, ourselves but rather then just moaning and dwelling on problems look for solutions to eliminate these problems.
So say you moan about the fact that you don't have enough time in the day to get everything done, so a good idea would be to think how can I give myself more time today? Do I need to spend less time on the things that are not important like say cutting out some of your TV time, or perhaps getting up an hour earlier or staying awake a little later will give you more time.
You can do this with many things, money for example.
So say you are annoyed that you worked hard but all your money has gone soon as pay day comes. Do you really need that Spotify subscription? Would it hurt to not buy PlayStation Plus for one month or two?
Or do you really need to get a takeaway this month?
I like this quote from CEO mindset It goes as follows.
Start a business: $999 - Too much
Buy a new iPhone: $999 - No problem
Healthy groceries: $100 - Too much
Dinner & drinks: $100 - No problem
Watch Netflix: 2 hrs - 1 more episode
Learn a new skill: 2 hrs - No time
Life is all about choices so we do indeed need to chose them wisely
Now I am not saying deprive yourself of all fun things you like but just be mindful of what you spend your money on and this will get you into the habit of solution finding.
7. Eat the right foods + drink water
So let's start by going through what I mean by eating the right foods.
Food's are proven to have an impact on our moods, our body, and our sleep.
So think of yourself as a car, now this can be any car you like such as a Lotus, or a Fiat or even a Volvo.
Car's need fuel and imagine your lotus is a petrol car and you are filling the car with deasil.
Now you might be thinking well it's fine but the car may go a little but it will let you down in the end as it does not have the right fuel.
This is what you are doing to your body when you just stick to fatty, greasy foods and takeaways.
You will not feel your %100 best if that is all you eat, not to mention the impact this will have on your body and your skin.
Now I am not saying do not ever eat fried chicken again, I am just saying be mindful of what you eat, good foods like salad, fruit, pasta, meat, potatoes, veg are all good recovery food that will help you maintain a positive mindset and a stunning body to compliment that great mindset you are growing.
It is OK to have fatty foods just make sure you balance your diet with some veg, fruit, and protein sources.
Now we start on the drinks.
Again with drinks it is OK to drink tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cola, any fizzy drink but just make sure you are also drinking plenty of water to counter those other fizzy, sugary caffeinated drinks.
Water is pure and for most of us yes we ultimately have to pay for water like little to nothing but water is everywhere, water is pure and water has been around for decades and the health benefits water has is unbelievable.
Adding plenty of water in your diet will help you stay, focused, balanced, grounded, more alert, and less likely to want to lay down.
Not to mention staying hydrated will help prevent you from fainting, feeling tired, dry throat and mouth.
8. Hold yourself accountable
Webster's Dictionary says the definition of accountability is: "the obligation or willingness to accept responsibility for one's actions."
Now what do I mean? Well we have all been guilty of blaming other people and other circumstances for our misfortune.
As an example say you was going to go to the gym after work but you tell yourself that your boss has given you too much work today so now you do not have the energy to go to the gym.
In that sense it seems like you are blaming your boss for you not making it to the gym today.
Another example would be as follows - My friends wanted me to go out drinking last night when I should of been studying, so now I did not manage to get my studying done and I have a massive headache.
And you think to yourself if your friend James did not ask you to go drinking you would of been able to do your studying.
Putting the blame on others seems natural to us as we do not want to feel as if we have let ourselves down.
Going back to both scenarios but this time you hold yourself accountable would go something like this - "Oh man I am so tired today, so today I will not go to the gym but I will be sure to do double the amount of workout tomorrow".
"Oh man, I should of said no for going out as I knew I had studying to do, and now I have double the amount of studying to do and I have a headache and that is down to me".
Now it is important to hold yourself accountable for every decision you make in your life.
Living by your own principals will remind you that you can achieve anything once you set your mind to, you will also inspire others, you will feel a whole lot more happier in knowing you do not have to moan about others because you know you are holding yourself accountable.
Holding yourself accountable is the way to become a superior man or Woman.
So there you have it.
The 8 steps you take take right now to feel and become more confident.
You can achieve anything, you just need to believe in yourself, think and act in a way that will push you to become your greatest self.
