Discovering the Winter Arc: Lessons Learned & Why You Should Start Yours

So the phrase we all keep hearing about - THE WINTER ARC.
Now what is this and what does it mean? Well the term winter arc originally comes from an anime and it has now become a some what trend but not the typical dance, singing or news trends that are common though it's typically a three month period when one individual focuses on themselves and aim for mastery in a specific goal or task and they achieve this through the coldest days of the year.
You most likely start the winter arc at the start of October so October the 1st all the way until January the 1st.
The winter arc goals for each person is different but it's most common practice is fitness, so building not only physical strength but mental strength too.
Now it is no secret that it takes a three month period to create a habit and make it stick but doing this in the winter will push you a whole lot further then you can imagine.
When the day's are cold and long and you have less motivation to complete your tasks every single day without fail, when the day's are long and the weather is blistering cold your inner voice will be telling you, "hey just give it a miss today, you deserve a rest day, come on no one will notice" and much more!
One of you biggest tasks is to push past those voices and DO NOT let yourself give in.
Now this is a whole lot more easier said then done especially if no one else knows what you are doing, if you do not announce what you are doing which I highly recommend, you have to hold yourself accountable.
So just because others are not watching or others do not know what you are doing YOU DO.
The reasons for doing this will vary from person to person.
Maybe you have had a really bad year, maybe you have not followed through with your words through out the year.
Maybe you want to gain more respect, maybe you want to feel good about yourself, maybe you want to gain confidence, maybe you want to start working on your summer body, as we all know the phrase - The summer body is built in the winter-.
Every time I felt like giving up I would tell myself "dude BS! BEAST SEASON and we are going to complete this!"
Now I will tell you why you should start the winter arc.
You should start the winter arc because you will learn more about yourself like your limits and how to push past them.
You will also learn how to become more confident in not only your appearance but you will become more confident in your skills and how you view yourself.
You will be learning daily how you are increasing your value.
You will be learning how to hold yourself accountable.
You will be able to withstand more cold weather.
You will be able to tolerate the cold weather and this is great for you if you absolutely hate the cold weather like me.
You will appreciate more.
You will inspire others.
You will do wonders for your mental health.
You will have a well defined body.
There is a whole lot more to gain from this.
Now I will tell you about my winter arc journey.
So for me I started at the end of September and I finished on the 1st of January.
I was really hyped to get started in the winter arc the first few weeks felt really good, I was a little negative due to lack of sleep, self doubt, money problems and the like.
I also decided to do video diary's a few times each month to give everyone an update on what I was feeling and an update on my progress.
I had also been working on the punch bag and creating a few videos of my punch bag training, I had also went working on sprinting every day.
There would be days where I would go and sprint on my work break.
I also created a few videos to show what I was working on with the sprints.
I worked out every single night without fail, each month I would record a video of the workouts I was doing.
I chose not to publish any of these videos until I had completed my three month but ended up posting the starting videos at the end of December due to low storage on my laptop.

At the start of my winter arc I felt as if I was not going to be able to complete this but as the weeks went by and I managed to stick to my targets, it gave me more confidence to keep going through the month, I felt as if I was not making any progress with my working out but I just kept at it and refused to give in to self sabotage talk.
I looked forward to the nights where I finished my workout then Id have a nice soak in the bath and for me that was heaven alongside spending time with my family, which are priceless moments.
I made myself a target to go running/jogging three times a week.
right now I feel amazing that I gave myself that experience and what's more I completed the three months.
As this was no easy feat by any means but I did it and when you achieve a goal no matter how big or small it makes you feel wonderful and gives you a high sense of value.
It also teaches other people about you.
For example it shows people that you are a high achiever.
It shows people that you keep to your word.
It shows people that you are results driven.
It shows people that you are self motivated and dedicated.
It shows people that you have fire in your eyes.
Now if you have mental health problems then believe me this will help you more then you know.
Don't let bad experiences stop you for achieving greatness because we are all amazing beings and the is absolutely nothing in this world we cannot do.
